Here are pcitures from our trip to the Toyko Tower. Many different views, and interesting things to see. There is so much density in this city. But it does not surprize me any longer to see the green spaces that have been incorporated around the city. Many of these views are from the observation deck at 150 meters up the tower. The tower itself stands 333 meters, with lots of lights added to it.
Below is the Rainbow bridge, and beyond is Tokyo Harbour.

Then we headed down to the bottom, getting ready to head out for some sightseeing of the area, and look what we found:

We then did some touring in the area around the tower, and here are a few things we saw:
To the left is what's called Jizou, which are primarily gaurdian deities for children. They had little red hats on.Below, is some very interesting wrought iron work hanging beside
a temple gate, as we were getting ready to leave the area:After going back to the Ueno district with two Japanese friends, Ayako and Tomoko, we walked thru the Ameyoko market there, we headed back to Ueno Park and just had a good time. Later on, Ayako took us out to a restuarant to meet up with her parents, and we were there for 3 hours, eating a very Japanese meal. We started the meal with cooked cod (very tasty!) and octapus . Sashimi was the focal point of this meal, which is raw seafood. The presentation was just amazing - two lobster heads and claws, a small fish and then all the seafood: lobster, mackaral, and a shellfish. This was followed up with tempura (a batter cooked combination) which included prawns and squid. We may update what I have missed adding here, but that is alright. I tried a bit of all of it. The meal then ended with miso soup with cooked lobster in it, hot rice and a piece of melon finished things up. Overall, a very enjoyable day.
