Summer Fun on Vancouver Island

Ken and I had a Japanese friend from Toyko over for a visit. She is studying in Vancouver at the moment and had a real desire to see parts of Nanaimo and Cathedral Grove. So Friday evening and Saturday we had some fun, while coping with an extraordinary heat wave - higher than seasonal with high humidity. Considering all that, we really enjoyed our time in the shade of the big trees in Cathedral Grove, and wandering along the water front in Nanaimo, beside Cameron Lake and in Qualicum.
